New agribusiness council to help get government out of agriculture

The California Growers and Retailers Association will offer some assistance to farmers who have been laid off over the years, saying the move away from agriculture jobs “gives farmers, ranchers and small-business owners a stronger voice” in deciding how to grow their businesses in the future.

The association is seeking $2 million in aid from the state’s fiscal development office.

The state is offering a “bundled cash assistance plan” that includes a reduced-rate loan of up to $5,000 a year for up to two years to farmers who have been laid off, said Jim Kratzer, executive director of California Growers and Retailers Association. It is also seeking more than $20,000 in tax-credit money to assist farmers.

In a separate move, the Department of Agriculture will begin working with California growers and retailers to help them transition to more production-friendly, carbon-positive agriculture practices, spokesman Steve Gillett said in a statement.

It will allow farmers to more readily move their fields on green technology farms or in new, eco-friendly ways that also are compliant with local regulations.

Gillett said the program is expected to generate $250,000 a year in direct employment for California small-business owners and $500,000 for rural area farmers.

California is the only Southern state without an “ag-gag” law — a controversial provision in the state’s anti-domestic abuse law that allows domestic violence victims and family members to file lawsuits against abusers if it prevents the victims from cooperating in prosecutions.

Opponents of the law said it encourages domestic abusers to lie to police and allows prosecutors to sidestep the law when evidence can’t be tested.

Gilett said there are no plans to include enforcement against any California-based employers who violate California’s anti-discrimination laws. That includes employers in the San Francisco Bay Area or those with offices in other counties or states, he said.

He called such employers “individuals who choose to do the right thing and work with our partners (on agriculture) in our state.”

Cattle farmer, wife of former governor blames ‘unfair retaliation’

Gov. Jerry Brown, in his annual Christmas message, renewed his call for a law limiting the scope of the law’s applicability to businesses, such as animal shelters. The proposal will be on the November ballot for voters to decide.

He also called for an end to “unfair retaliation and an end to corporate welfare programs.”

“A system that puts profits before people is not the right way to run a business,” Brown said. “If we’re going to put food on the table, w

The return of the angasi oyster and the importance of using this species may help diversify these stocks by enhancing marine biodiversity.

The fish is a member of the species Daphnia aurata. The angasi oyster was discovered at a site in the Côte d’Ivoire (Côte D’Ivoire, Côte-du-Rhône, France) in 1972. A species of angasi oyster is abundant in the waters of the Gulf of Guinea (a river of the same name, which in French and English is called the Côte du Rhône). The Angasi oyster is endemic to the Côte du Rhône River basin, with a high diversity in the range of 7 different sizes.

The fish is usually caught by a single operator who uses his or her hands, a pair of hands, an adjustable catch device with handle attached and a pair of hooks for harvesting angasi oysters. Fish are held in position by a fixed catch mechanism or a harness attached to a rope, with the catch device mounted on a pole or board. Fishing is carried out by tilting the catch device or by tilting the catch device in the general direction of the line; angasi oysters are held vertically and the catch can be adjusted according to the length of the line.

During the harvesting of a new species, the angasi oyster is dried and weighed. Although there is much uncertainty about the precise weights used in the collection of the angasi oyster, the angasi oyster has a weight of 20-30 kg. The weight of the fresh fish in the fish is often assumed to be 40-50 kg. Fresh fish and the weight of the dried fish are divided by the length of the line; in the case of the angasi oyster, the weight and length are assumed to be equal to the weight of the fish in the water at the time of capture.

After the angasi oyster has been weighed, it is cleaned and weighed for the purpose of calculating the total weights of a new species. In the process of counting it is collected, in the case of species such as Angasi oysters the weight will be calculated as follows:

Angasi oyster 1 kg weight 7 kg length 2 kg weight 10 kg length 3 kg weight 12 kg length 4 kg weight 14 kg length 5 kg weight 16 kg length 6 kg weight 18 kg length 7 kg weight 20 kg length 8 kg weight 22 kg length 9 kg weight 24 kg length 10 kg weight

As each angasi oyster weighs 200-250 kg, the total weight will be divided into ten equal parts. This calculation can be carried out as follows:

100 kg (angasi oyster 1 kg) + 7
